PostSubject: Greyson Academy for the Gifted (Redo)   Wed Jul 17, 2013 8:59 pm

Originally, Greyson Academy had been Stinson Academy back in the 1700s. Thanks to the addition of "for the Gifted" in the early 1900s, the abbreviation "SAG" did little for the student body. Instead, it is now "GAG". To some, it still resembles the former, but for those who attend GAG, it makes perfect sense.

To the public, Greyson Academy is a place for people who are quite smart or skilled. This is mostly true, but with a catch. The academy is actually a school for young spies. They get recruited and are trained with the general school curriculum, but must also train physically. Usually it is orphaned children, but this is not always the case. Only parents who attended Greyson know what the school really does. Some may work there as teachers, counselors, trainers, or even agents.

Greyson started in Britain, outside of London. It started off with about 20 pupils, growing to 300 only a few decades later. Today, it houses nearly two-thousand on a state-of-the-art campus. Several computer labs, flat-screen tvs in every bedroom, private bathrooms, one dining hall with several food options, training course that is updated every three years, and for the elder teens - brand new rental cars, including mustangs, porsches, and others.

You are able to request a private room or a roommate, though no more than two to a room. Boys can be with girls as the school has high surveillance, even in the dorms. To qualify as an agent you have to have extensive physical, wit, and psychological tests before you are truly offered a place at Greyson. You are blind-folded and drugged as you are brought here, so nobody would believe a kid if he went to the news about a place that offers, or rejects, children spies.

There are three dorms on campus.
The Hannihan House - For girls only.
The Benjiman House - For boys only.
The Benihanna House - The coed dorm.

Generally, the ranking at Greyson is by age, but for the real inexperienced ones you may be placed in kindergarten classes. You may be in advanced maths but your combat training may be with six and seven year-olds. Eventually, when you are of age and skill, you will be placed on missions with a handler or a MI5 agent - in rare cases, a CIA agent. Some children may have lived here for several years, but could not train with the obstacle course until they are 10 years old. The obstacle course is a two month long training where you are housed in terrible conditions, yelled at constantly, forced to wear the same clothes every day, and often times you go hungry for two days at a time. It is the last training course before you are made an agent and are allowed on missions.

The ranking with approximate ages goes as follows:
Guests - White (when you are recruited, but not accepted)
New recruit (10+) - Grey
Children (4-9) - Purple  (These are children who have grown up on campus, but cannot train physically other than karate classes and general school classes)
Apprentice Agent (10+) - Light Blue (These are ones who passed the course and are agents.)
Amateur Agent (14+) - Blue (These children have usually been on several missions, or one or two large missions where they did well)
Novice Agent (16-19) - Red (Have been on several missions - 10-20 - or have been on a few intense missions with good results.
Trainer (19+) - Black (Graduate agents have the chance to train or teach recruits.)

Depending on your rank, you will wear a "GREYSON" or "GAG" shirt with that specified color.

Appearance:
She generally is seen in her Light Blue "ACADEMY" shirt and jeans. Her laptop or book is always near her, along with a cup of coffee.
Criminal Record: None.
History (opt): Recruited at age 13, she has only been in GAG for eight months. She passed the obstacle course training, better known as the death training, the first time. There was only one mission in which she was in, but the group had been sent home early due to a severe injury to her rib. The group's cover was blown. The group, a family laundering money for a terrorist group called Kallen, discovered them. Set out for revenge, they murdered one of the two handlers, permanently paralyzed a Red (novice) agent, and nearly killed Sophia. The remaining handler had been able to call in back up, who arrived just in time. However, Sophia had four broken ribs and seven other cracked. Two of her ribs on her left side were so badly damaged, they had to replace them with metal ribs to protect her lung. She has been recovered for two months.
Personality (opt): Sophia prefers to be alone. She does not speak loudly unless angered. Her tempers fluctuate dependent upon the conversation topic. She never speaks about her family or past.
Siblings: Trent, half-brother. They have not spoken in years.

MAP OF GREYSON
The halls were quiet during the summer break. Those who weren't off on a mission, were able to take two months for summer off. The few who had siblings outside of Greyson were allowed visitation with daily check-ins. The rest were allowed to vacation in Hawaii at a lovely resort.

Sophia had opted out of the resort. That wasn't really her thing. She would much rather continue training and studying than sitting on a hot beach with loud kids running around screaming. So here she was, finished after a long day of training at the indoor obstacle course in Peterson Gym.

Since her accident, she had been kept from training. It was only recently they allowed her to train again. If she were in any pain, they would take her from training immediately. Thankfully, Sophia has a high pain tolerance so she can still train despite not being fully recovered. She hides it so well, they are considering another mission for her.

As Sophia walked out of the building, she looked up to see one of the other students who stayed behind. She didn't know their name, but she had a few classes with them.

Name: Requiem Dominus Mortalis
Agent Name: Zaigou Masa Taida
Age: 17
Rank: Red
Appearance:

Criminal Record: Killed One Person and Broke Another's Spine In Self Defense During A School Shooting
History (opt): Requiem was Recruited at 14, after the incident at his school. He had killed another student who had come in waving around a gun, while his brother fired off shots at anyone who tried to get close to the school. Requiem decided that taking out the one by the doors would be easier. He used the flat edge of a lunch tray against the gunner's neck, breaking it and leaving them paralyzed from the neck down. From there he took the gun and shot the other one. Three other students died before Requiem could save them. After a great deal of court processes, Requiem was released, but finding that he couldn't get back to a normal life, he was scouted out by GAG. He was shown to have excellent stealth and negotiation skills, although he wasn't much of a martial artist. His skills are primarily in assassination and shifting diplomatic events.
Personality (opt): He's calm, calculated, and at the same time very laid back and goofy. He understands the world around him, and what he doesn't understand, he seeks to understand.
Siblings: A younger sister, Maria. She has the same white hair as he does.
Other: He keeps several decks of cards on him at all times. Playing Cards as well as Tarot Cards. He also keeps a silver pocket watch.

_________________________________________

Requiem leaned against a tree, cleaning his rifle absently as he flipped through the pages of the latest book he'd acquired. It was an old thing, printed in 1854, Theoreticae Theologia Dogmaticae, Vol IV. It was written in latin, and for the most part was incredibly dry, but he found it interesting seeing the way things were written back then. Learning about the past was the best way to predict the future they said.

As he turned the page of his book, he happened to look out and spotted a girl staring at him. He didn't know her well, he'd only seen her a few dozen times outside of classes, and very briefly at that.

Requiem felt awkward being watched, so instead of returning to what he was doing, he waved her over. He figured it would be better to meet her and find out about her rather than need to find out later and not be able to.

Sophia walked over to the male student, feeling awkward. He seemed a lot older than her, maybe eighteen. She arrived in front of him and waved shyly. Her eye caught the book he was reading. It was a gorgeous older book. Rough edges, dark cover. It looked dusty, though it was clean. Her favorite kind of book.

"Wow, what year is that?" She asked, pointing to the book.

"1854" He replied, turning the page and looking up to her. "I'm Requiem" He told her with a slight smile, not entirely knowing what to say, but figuring introductions were in order nonetheless.

Name: Gabriel Jett
Agent Name: Not yet Earned
Age: 14
Rank: New Recruit-ish

Appearance: Standing 5'3, at 99 lbs, Gabe was usually the smallest in his class, though not always by a wide margin. He has a round, jovial face with gray contact-clad eyes (he occasionally switches them out for horn-rimmed glasses, but only when he's feeling ballsy). he hasshaggy, forhead length brown hair, but is devoid of facial hair and will be for all his life (thanks obama!). His hands end in extremely dainty fingers (all the better to build shit with)

Criminal Record: Nothing major, although he's gotten into a grand total of three fights over the course of elementary and middle school, and he's been accused of cheating on a test at least once every three months since the 7th grade

History: His parents know absolutely nothing of what this place is about (will be shown through RP once I get to making my first post)

Personality: Gabe was always a little too straight-laced for some of his peers, which never helped when the school bully decided he needed to find someone to unleash a tirade of frustrations on one swirlie at a time. Gabe might've become something a lot darker than the neutral nice guy he is now if he didn't have an escape, and for him, he had the sky...sorta. All across his room is a shelf displaying a slew of surprisingly well constructed model airplanes, as well as one toy soldier and what appears to be an astonishingly finely crafted wooden helicopter. Gabe is the kinda guy that would help a guy on the side of the road push his car to a filling station in exchange for pizza, complain to himself silently the whole time, then sparingly enjoy his reward.

Siblings: Gabe has a ten year old brother Mort. A less intelligent, but pleasant guy who's way into basketball, with the talent to earn the nickname "Mort Jordan", or more commonly, "MJ" amongst his buddies at school.

Special: In Middle School (where the latter two of the fights on his personal record were established), Gabe achieved a reputation for having extremely quick reflexes, which might've been why he got recruited (more on that later)

"Wow, this is a first edition!" Sophia exclaimed. She almost forgot to introduce herself. "Oh, I'm Sophia. Pleasure to meet you." In the moment, she bowed.

"Uh, really Sophia? You just bowed. Nothing weird about that." She laughed at herself. "Uh, sorry. I'm not sure why I did that."

Though she did know. Her last job had been with a Japanese family. They blended in, pretending to be in-laws to a teacher's son. Too bad their cover had been blown. Sophia shook her head, trying to stop thinking about the incident.

Requiem smiled, bowing his head in return, even though she seemed embarrassed with herself for bowing in the first place. "No worries, it's all good, and yes, it's a first edition. Do you speak Latin?" He asked looking down at the book once again, closing it after marking which page he was on in his memory.

Sophia smiled at his politeness.

"Yes. I actually am a polyglot - I speak fluently in thirty-three languages, though I can understand four more. Language is such a fascinating concept. Isn't it strange how we have been around for thousands of years, yet we all still speak differently?" She finally realized she was on her nerd-roll.

"Oh, sorry." She squinted her face apologetically.

Requiem only laughed a small amount "Well, if you'd like, you're welcome to read it, just be sure it gets back to me in one piece, alright?" He asked in a light tone, pulling himself up off the ground, using his rifle as a support. As he did, he unfurled the book from under his arm and held it out to her. "It's a bit dry though, just a book regarding religious nonsense."

One Week ago...

The first day of summer was upon the youthful masses, and there was nary a saddened soul amongst the graduates of Messina Middle School. All throughout Bus 831 the raucous laughter and talk of plans for misspent youth filled the air. Gabriel usually didn't pay much mind to his peers mid-transit, but today, his joy at the awaited influx of free time was weighed down with a cumbersome sense of foreboding which even had the courtesy to manifest as a headache bordering on migraine.

"Hey Bro, are you feeling alright?," Mort questioned, noticing his elder brother's obvious discomfort. The middle school graduate tried to hide his pained expression under a smile, but then just shook his head.

"It's nothing Kid, just a feeling." he replied. This got the younger one's attention.

"It was 'just a feeling' the day dad tried to make waffles, and we both know how that ended." Mort observed, his eyes growing slightly wide. Eventually the bus reached their neighborhood. The brothers walked a short distance home, the lawns with their assorted flower beds displaying the beauty of summer. As Gabriel stepped foot on his driveway, the headache went into full-on skull-fuck tremor mode, but he managed to keep his cool (though his face turned into a monstrous grimace). This would do nothing to prepare him for the change about to pounce.

Gabriel entered the living room to find two complete strangers on the couch, talking with his parents over tea. Stranger number one was a tall redheaded woman in a black suit, a wide smile that seemed to contrast with her ice-blue, cold eyes and the body of a gymnast in a black business suit and tie. Stranger number two was a very muscular man with shades, spiky black hair, and a suit identical to his partner's.
"I assure you Mrs. Jett, this is one of the top schools in th- Oh. Hello Gabriel," Stranger number two greeted, not immediately noting her prospective recruit's arrival. " I'm here on behalf of the Grayson Academy for the Gifted, and we would love to have you there."
"Can't say I've heard of it", the high schooler to be replied, keeping his calm despite his mind-numbing pain.
"Oh it's a great school, one of the few boarding schools left in fact. We'll even wave the first three years of tuition.", Stranger two chimed in
This wasn't adding up for Gabe. His grades were barely honor roll, he could barely dribble a ball, let alone score three pointers, why would an academy seek him out, let alone offer such a substantial scholarship.
"This sounds a little too good to be true." Gabe noted in an almost accusatory tone.
"Good, 'cause the paperwork has already been signed, have a good summer!" Mrs. Jett informs her son, who then proceeded to facepalm, then black out.

"Thank you," she replied, accepting the book. There was never a moment she wasn't taking a challenge. Even if it was just a book. Though, it was one she had yet to read. Glad to have an additional distraction during her off-duty time at Greyson, Sophia felt a little less on edge.

((We can time skip, to whoever wants to. We will skip a few days ahead and meet Gabriel.))
