Name: Ana Leanne
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Name: Trent
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance:

We don't know what happened or why they appeared, but they did. We don't know who the first case was or if it was even a virus. We don't know if it's aliens or a terrorism-act gone wrong. All we do know, is that we survived and they didn't.

It's 2045. It has been 20 years since the first "zombies" appeared. It spread too fast. One day. We had one day to witness our world fall apart and the dead rise. One day is all it took for an unknown virus to take over. Now it's 20 years later and there are fewer uninfected than infected. We live by danger. It's the only way to know for sure that we are alive and it's not a nightmare. No, this is real. I'll tell you how it began.

2025

Ana sat at her computer desk, wondering what to do next. The light shone through the window, the sun casting a glare on the screen. She sighed. Trent, Max, and their mom had went shopping an hour ago. Did it really take that long to find a gift for her? Today was her birthday, but she couldn't care less. Getting older just made her more frustrated.

Her father had been a scientist at the MedFlux Labs, but had passed away two years ago when she was fourteen. MF said there was an explosion from a leaky pipe. It pained her to tell people her idol died from a gas explosion. If you were to die, would you choose that way? No. Not her. Not her father.

While waiting, she decided to grab a drink. Sirens played in the background. Outside somewhere a few blocks away. When she returned from the kitchen with a Pepsi, she sat down at the computer. Almost immediately there was a loud bang and someone's face plastered against her window. Jumping out of the chair and away from the window, she cursed. They looked strange, like some drug-addict. Their skin looked too gray to be normal. Their eyes looked so drained, sunken.

She reached for the phone as the person disappeared. She dialed her mother, but the line was busy. Wait, busy? Who had a busy line these days. She dialed 9-1-1. Also busy. Maybe the person had done something to their phone line. She rushed to the front door to make sure it was locked. It was.

Then came the crashing. Something crashed through the living room window, shattering glass everywhere. Flinging open the door, Ana rushed outside and ran. She had no shoes, no purse, nothing but her clothes. Only a couple blocks away did she realize something more was going on than a break-in. As she rounded a corner to downtown, she heard strange noises. She stepped from behind a building.

She gasped. More sickly people were chasing others. They tore their teeth into those who they grabbed. One turned toward her gasp and began running at her. Screaming, Ana ran again. Nobody else had screamed. It was too surreal of a moment. As she neared a bridge four blocks later, she slowed. Nobody seemed to be near. She huddled underneath bridge, too scared and shocked to move.

Downtown was huge. Large. There was no way that could be happening. What was happening? She curled up to herself and closed her eyes, willing herself to wake up.

Name: Dorian Emiliano Felice
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance:

__________________________________________________________________________________

Dorian sighed leaning back in his cell. Another two years and he'd be free. Two Years. Meanwhile, his worthless cell mate was snoring in his bunk, distracting him. Finally, Dorian had had enough "Damnit Markov! Wake up before I kill you!" He growled.

The snoring stopped suddenly, and Dorian relaxed, returning to his scribbles. He didn't look like much, but he'd been incarcerated for a good reason. Of course they couldn't prove much of it, so they made a deal with him to help catch others, and in return he would serve a lesser sentence. It had been fine with him, he hadn't had anything better to do anyway, so one place was just as good as another the way he figured it.

For now, he was working at a near feverish pace. Plans and workings, small thoughts that he'd had and dreams. Lately though, he'd had these recurring dreams that concerned him, and that was what he'd been focused so much on. Something wasn't right. His entire family had been dotted with 'psychics' and the like, he never put much stock into it of course, but he still couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

So now he worked. Planned an escape from this prison should his fears come true. If they didn't, he would simply scrap the plans and move on. Dorian just liked to be prepared, no matter the situation. He always felt that it was better safe than sorry. It's how he got away with so much. Killing was something he was good at, and as an assassin, he killed people for a living. In an effort to avoid being caught, he had to plan carefully. Because of his careful planning, he never got caught. The truth of the matter was that he was simply getting tired of killing people.

Unfortunately, once you're in that sort of business, getting out takes some work. The easiest way is to simply get a little sloppy, make it so you're cast into suspicion of not being able to accomplish the mission without getting caught, which is what he did, and in doing so, he got caught, but there wasn't enough evidence to actually close the case. Just fine for him, he gave them enough information to put himself away for a few years, but not really anything more than that. His plan worked.

Now, here he was in prison, with a feeling like his world was about to come crashing to an end. He scratched a few more notes down and looked upon his finished work. Taking a few minutes to memorize it all, he nodded and pocketed the page. It helped him keep a calm mind that way, if he had something to look back on. He understood that people panic, he too was just as susceptible to panic. This was his way of avoiding it.

Suddenly, the prison alarms rang, and he knew that what he'd been worrying about had actually come true. Silently, he stood up and walked to the now open cell door.

(NAFR will post once she's back on Smile )

Name: Cassiopeia Jones
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Cassiopeia stands at five foot three with light blonde hair that curls down to her shoulders, she usually keeps her hair up whenever she was at her job. She has light blue eyes and a pale, round face.

--------------------------------------------------

Cassiopeia was out getting coffee for the rest of her coworkers at the station, her new place of employment. Cassiopeia was the youngest officer to be allowed onto the police force and she hadn't gotten the job easily. They had been wary to let a child prodigy become like them, but she had proved to them that she was perfect for the job. She enjoyed it, but for the past few weeks she had been in charge of doing menial tasks like being in charge of the coffee runs. She glanced down and then answered her cell phone when it went off. "This is Jones, I'm heading back to the station now, just give me a minute."

"Alright, but I'm heading out for a bit, I got a bunch of complaints from some other people from downtown regarding that robbery we were looking into." The man's voice was low and gravelly from years of smoking.

"Take care." Cassiopeia closed her phone and shoved it back into the pocket of her black sweater. It was at that particular moment that she heard the sirens go off and she dropped the coffee carrier that she had been holding onto as she looked around. A moment later, two human figures crashed through a nearby store front window, sending pieces of flying glass everywhere. The person on top viciously bit down onto the man that it had taken down, eliciting a scream from the man. Cassiopeia took a step back and then pulled out her gun, "Get off of him!" she ordered, attempting to hide the small hint of fear in her tone.

The person that had attacked the man looked up at Cassiopeia and it took her a moment to register that it was a woman who had attacked the man. The woman grinned at the prospect of gaining another victim. Thick streams of blood dripped down her face and she took one step towards Cassiopeia before an entire clip of bullets was embedded into her chest and abdomen. The woman didn't seem to go down easily, she just...hunched over and knelt down.

Cassiopeia didn't have time to figure out what the hell was going on, so instead of staying behind to see if the woman was actually dead, she sprinted to the station, concerned for her friends and fellow workers.
